腺苷5'-磷酸钠盐是一种硫酸化的腺苷单磷酸化合物。腺苷5'-磷酸磷酸钠盐是腺苷5'-磷酸磷酸还原酶的底物，硫酸盐从环境中吸收并持续存在。5'-磷酸腺苷钠盐还原为亚硫酸盐，经进一步转化后可得到硫，用于随后的生物合成反应。双磷酸化的类似物3'-磷酸腺苷-5'-磷酸酯（PAPS）普遍存在，[35S] PAPS被描述为磺基转移酶的光亲和配体。
Adenosine 5′-phosphosulfate sodium salt is a sulfated adenosine monophosphate compound. Adenosine 5′-phosphosulfate sodium salt is the substrate of the enzyme adenosine 5′-phosphosulfate reductase where sulfate uptaken from the environment and borne on. Adenosine 5′-phosphosulfate sodium salt is reduced to sulfite, and upon further transformation becomes available sulfur for subsequent biosynthetic reactions. A doubly phosphorylated analog, 3′-phosphoadenosine-5′-phosphosulfate (PAPS) is ubiquitous and a [35S]PAPS has been described as a photoaffinity ligand for sulfotransferase enzymes.
